Thomas A. Sprung
Tom Sprung moved from New York to Denver in 1972 to attend The University of Denver. While acquiring a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology, he worked in various trades in the construction industry. After graduating in 1976, Tom decided to pursue a more serious construction career.
By the close of the 1970’s, Thomas Sprung Construction employed 25 journeymen carpenters. The Company was responsible for performing all of the carpentry on custom and production homes, to include structural framing, exterior and interior trim. In the early 1980’s, the Company began general contracting services. The initial focus was custom homes, but Tom soon relocated his offices to Lower Downtown Denver to participate in the evolving historic district revitalization.
Tom Sprung is President of Sprung Construction, Inc.; which was incorporated in 1985. Sprung Construction, Inc. has renovated many of Colorado’s finest historic structures; which partially include: 1301 Wazee Lofts, 1517 Blake Street, 1538 Wazee Street, 1818 Blake Street, American National Bank Bldg & Annex, Buerger Brothers Lofts, Chamber Building Lofts, Clock Tower Lofts, Colorado Business Bank, McClintock Building and Tappan Block.
In 1988, Tom Sprung founded a small development company for the purposes of purchasing and renovating historic warehouse properties with the intent to bring these dilapidated vacant structures back into active use. Since that time, Tom has successfully re-developed five separate properties in Lower Downtown Denver, The Upper Larimer Neighborhood of Denver and Leadville, Colorado.
Today, both Sprung Construction and the development companies are still actively involved in Colorado in general contracting and the redevelopment of both historic and new properties.
